Babies don't keep, but pictures do.

The anticipation. The arrival. The instant connection between mamas and their babies. It really is Heaven on Earth. There is nothing more precious than the gift of new life, and I'm truly honored every time someone invites me into such a sacred space for their families.

It's absolutely crucial to find the right photographer for your maternity and newborn sessions. You NEED someone who is going to really get you- your maternity vibe, your parenting style, and your desire to capture all the details that matter most to you- so that you can focus on what's most important: bonding with your new baby. Hopefully, that's me.

Maternity

As you already know, the connection between a mother and her baby forms long before they're born, and I believe that maternity photos should reflect that bond.

And while pregnancy may bring challenge and change, our incredible bodies are absolutely worth being celebrated. I'll help you pick the perfect outfit to make you feel the most confident for your session, and then we'll go have some fun!

You've worked hard carrying this baby for months- it's time to celebrate!

Timing: As a general rule of thumb, I suggest taking maternity pictures between 28-34 weeks.

Sessions

Newborns

My philosophy on newborn photography is everything is less stressful when we let babies lead the session. Whether it be in the comfort of your own home or at a beautiful outdoor location, I much prefer to capture the "unwrapped" moments in lifestyle sessions. This means if your baby is unhappy in their swaddle, let's force it. If they're hungry, feed them. If they want to be rocked, or walked, or bounced, that's what we'll do and I'll just keep snapping pictures.

Meanwhile, I also think that posed newborn pictures are precious, so, baby willing, I incorporated those into my sessions, as well.

Timing: the recommended timeframe for newborn pictures is 7-14 days old if you want sleepy, posed positions. But if you want more of a lifestyle session, I think you have the whole first month to capture that bond.

(Ps- I won't say I'm a baby whisperer, but I do think they like me as much as I like them. Which is a lot.)
